Bio-Fuel

Fossil fuels are becoming scarce and expensive because of escalating demand for these non-renewable energy products and limited supply. Discovery of new oil field prove to be insufficient in sustaining the current levels of consumption, and some feared that these fuel may be running out. Such concerns pressure the need of having other energy alternatives. Bio-fuel is one possible candidate, however many feared it might be hazardous for the environment and may threaten food security. Many debated: ‘’we should not be growing for oil, but growing it’’, this sentence illustrates how the future world will be with Bio-fuel. Many alternatives suggested include harvesting fuel from food. Economic expansion requires staggering amount of energy, for transportation, production & manufacturing, heating & cooling and electricity sectors. There is also larger number of people who adopts more energy-intensive lifestyles. Meeting this ever-growing demand in a way with minimum environmental impact is a challenge of the century. Bio-fuel will play an important role as a renewable source of energy in this century. Bio-fuels are a wide range of fuel which is derived from biomass. Bio-fuels are gaining popularity in the public as well as the government due to the uncertain supply of oil, energy security for development, and concerns of pollutions from fossil fuels. Bio-fuel can be produced at a much faster rate, may be a better choice compared to traditional fossil fuels, which take hundreds of years to form.
